BOS Dog Joins the Annual Purina Pet Parade

BOS recently joined an annual Mardi Gras tradition in the St. Louis Market, the Purina Pet Parade.  This year marked the 30th anniversary of the highly anticipated event.

Now, this is no ordinary parade.

The Purina Pet Parade holds the Guinness World record for the LARGEST costumed pet parade in the WORLD (Explore St. Louis).  This family-friendly event is part of St. Louis’ Mardi Gras celebrations and draws upwards of 85,000 spectators, participants, and of course, pets!  For a $10 donation, owners and their best dressed companions were able to walk in the parade.  Proceeds this year were donated to Open Door Animal Sanctuary.

This was the first year that BOS participated in the annual parade.  The celebration takes place throughout the Soulard neighborhood and is one of the most highly attended events in St. Louis.

BOS Dog was thrilled to be joined by kids and their families that attended the Family Carnival (and submitted a BOS Shoe Box Float) along with the #BOSFamily.

Marty McCabe, BOS VP Business Development, is a regular Pet Parade-goer and was able to experience the staple event from a new lens this year.

“My wife Debbie, our dog Merlin, and I have attended the Mardi Gras Pet Parade each year since it began. Always as a spectator. BOS’s sponsorship provided us the opportunity to walk the parade route and truly feel part of Mardi Gras in St. LouisWhat a view from the parade side! The genuine glee of those in attendance both in the parade and on the curb was amazing! It is my hope that this first-class family-oriented St. Louis Mardi Gras Celebration, as it has been for me and my family, will become an annual BOS tradition!”
