From the moment she joined BOS, she hit the ground running, eager to learn, quick to help, and always ready to support her team. Makenzie brings an “all-in” attitude that inspires everyone around her. She is a dedicated problem-solver, and a true team player. 

What’s the best part of working at BOS?

The best part about working at BOS is the incredible community of people I’m surrounded by every day. My co-workers have truly become like family. I love the opportunity to collaborate, bounce ideas off one another, and work together to help grow BOS. It’s a team atmosphere where everyone is invested in each other’s success.

What do you enjoy most about your role at BOS?

My favorite thing about my role at BOS is that I am in a position where I get to learn what community banking is truly about. I work in commercial lending, retail banking, and have found a new role in helping out our loan documentation team. I love being in a position where I get to learn about all sides of banking and where I am able to help any customer who walks through our doors.

Who has been your biggest mentor at BOS, and why?

Our Community Bank President at the Normal branch, Dustin Mardis, has been my biggest mentor at BOS.  I met Dustin two years ago and at the time I had very little knowledge about banking. Since then, he has fully taken me under his wing in every aspect. From being someone relatively new to the workforce and adulthood in general, there is nothing more important than having a good mentor, and I really hit the jackpot with Dustin. I will always be grateful for the leader that he is both professionally and personally.
