Beware of Scammers Impersonating a Trusted Company

By BankSource on 4/2/2026

Scammers know that your bank is trying to protect you from fraud and can imitate our communication in an attempt to take advantage of you. Bank of Springfield will never contact you and ask for your eBusiness credentials including verification codes, tokens, passwords, and account number.

If you receive a text or call that appears to be from BOS, here are some tips to help protect you and your business:

  • DO NOT Trust Caller ID. If someone you do not know calls and asks questions about your account credentials or offers to assist with logging into online banking, hang up and contact us at a known phone number.
  • DO NOT share online banking credentials, token number, serial number or PINs with anyone. BOS will not call and ask for any of this information.
  • Never click links or download attachments in suspicious emails or text messages.
  • Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) when available to protect your network, email accounts, etc.
  • Set up dual control for all ACH and wire transfers initiated within online banking.

BOS is committed to keeping your information safe and secure, and it’s important that you take the necessary precautions to do the same. Call us directly at 877-698-3278 before interacting with an unsolicited email, text, or phone call claiming to be Bank of Springfield.
